It was a hot and bright sunny Saturday. Ruskin took the field against a competitive school, Oak Park. The team was led out to the field by juniors Kameron Williams, Shakespeare William and Mark-Anthony Robinson all with determination on their faces. Ruskin beat Oak Park 26-16.
Shakespeare Williams led the pack with 136 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
“I just felt like our team was connecting on all cylinders from the line to the running backs,” Shakespeare Williams said.
Kameron Willams led the defense with eight tackles and one interception.
“My line really set me up for so many tackles and interceptions,” Kameron Williams said.
A young sophomore with tons of potential; Jamal Wallace had two interceptions and a forced fumble coming off the bench.
“I don’t know what came over me I just played like this was my last game,” Wallace said.
Tyrell Rock recovered a fumble for a touchdown. All this before halftime. The score being 26-0.
Let’s see if this Ruskin stout defense can keep it up with a dangerous running game in the making.
