The boys varsity basketball is an exciting basketball team to watch. With a bunch of high fliers running up and down the court. This is a group of young men who is led by a tough coach who expects nothing but the best from his team.

“Defense and hustle is the only two things to preach to a team full of scorers,” coach Raymond Hughes said.

That’s a great philosophy for a team full of college bound stars. This year the whole school has high hopes for this basketball program.

“It just brings more intensity to my game and takes my game to another level,” senior Ron’Tay Hudson said.

Nobody should blame them with this team full of scorers and key big man who could stop anybody from putting up buckets in the paint. The only thing that could stop this team is them.

The point guard play of this team is head over heels the best in their conference with either seniors William White and Tyrell Rock to start or come off the bench and easily put up 20 points.

“I really just focus on getting my team involved and my mid range,” senior Rock said.

All the hard work Rock puts in shows off on the court. The Ruskin Golden Eagles basketball team is ready for the treacherous schedule they have including the likes of Raytown, Raytown South, Grandview and Staley twice. But be aware of the Golden Eagles this year and in the playoffs.
